- PLH has a capacity of 4 people.
- The maximum stay is limited to three (3) days, and any longer stays shall be handled on a case-by-case basis with advance notice and an additional fee.
Please note that there is no charge for transportation from Sano Station or Sano Shintoshi Bus Terminal to PLH.
It takes less than 90mins from Shinjuku Bus Terminal or Asakusa or Tokyo Station to get to Sano city. It takes another 20mins from there to get to Pine Luxury Homestay. Please refer to our Access page.

Optional Plans
Pine Luxury Homestay offers a wide range of optional plans to make your stay a little more special.
If you would like to use one or more our optional plans, please check the box on the reservation form entry screen and provide a brief description of your request. We will consider the number of nights you stay and seasonal conditions, and email you with some suggestions in order to make your trip the most enjoyable as well as reasonable.
If you use one or more of our paid optional plans in conjunction with your staying, we will provide you with a complimentary “early check-in” service that will allow you to check in early in the morning. Please check the box on the reservation form entry screen if you need this service and let us know your estimated time of arrival in Sano. We would like our guests to get to know Sano and its area as much as possible. Even if guests only stay one night, we believe that the early check-in service will give you more time to become familiar with the area. This will hopefully lead you to some unforgettable experience.
Sightseeing

In accordance with the season, we will drive you around historical sites in Sano and Ashikaga for a full day.
Example 1) Depart 9:00 → 9:30 Sano Yakuyoke Daishi and stroll in the neighborhood (90 min) → Transfer (15 min) → Shopping and dining at Sano Outlet (120 min) → Transfer (30 min) → Visit Ashikaga School and Bannaji Temple and stroll in the neighborhood (120 min) → Transfer (20 min) → Return to PLH at 17：00
Example 2) Depart 9：00→9：30 Sano Yakuyoke Daishi and walk around the area (90 min)→transfer (30 min)→walk around Ashikaga City by bicycle (including Ashikaga School and Bannnaji Temple (240 min)→transfer (20 min)→Return to PLH at 17：00
Example 3) Depart 9：00→9：30 Stroll around Roadside Station (50 min)→transfer (10 min)→walk around Sano Yakuyoke Daishi and nearby area (90 min)→transfer to mountain area of Sano City (40 min)→enjoy nature in the mountains and have Kiyomizu soba for lunch (120 min)→walk around Karasawayama Castle ruins (90 min)→transfer (40 min)→Return to PLH at 17：00
The above examples can be adjusted according to the wishes of the guests. There is something to see that you do not see in Tokyo or Kyoto.
- Minimal admission fees to the sites or others are to be borne by the guests. (Less than ￥2,000 per person)
Exploration Outside the City

Depending on the season, we will spend a day driving you around the tourist attractions of Nikko, Tochigi City or other areas.
Example 1) 8:30 departure→10:00 Toshogu Shrine sightseeing (120 min)→ transfer(30 min)→Lake Chuzenji sightseeing and lunch (120 min)→transfer(15 min)→Ryuzunotaki Falls, Kegonnotaki falls sightseeing (120 min)→returning (90 min)→Return to PLH at 18：00
Example 2) 8：30 departure → 9：30 arrival in Tochigi City, walking around the neighborhood (120 min) → little wooden boat cruising in the canals running through the town experience(30 min) → Transfer (25 min) → Walk around Daityuji Temple (Temple of Seven Wonders) (90 min) → Transfer (20 min) → Shopping at Sano Outlet → Transfer (20 min) → Return to PLH at 18：00
The above examples can be adjusted according to the wishes of the guests. There are many interesting places to visit that are unique in comparison to Tokyo or Kyoto.
- Admission fees to the sites or others are to be borne by the guests but that won’t be much.(Less than ￥2,500 per person)
Outdoor Experience
Fly Fishing Experience (for beginners)

I am a certified FFI Casting Instructor and had an experience guiding on the Henry’s Fork River in Idaho, USA when I graduated from Montana State University about 2 decades ago.
The service is to guide you to a pond close to PLH and fish there for 3 hours in the evening(from15:00 to 18:00). If you want to practice fly casting or tie your own flies before going fishing, we can support that too. If you are experienced anglers and look for a chance to fly fish Yamame (Cherry salmon) in the rivers around, please let us know. We can arrange a fishing trip at a reasonable price. Please note that the streams around our area are highly fishing-pressured every day. There might not be a chance for you to catch any if the situation is not cooperative. The beautiful scenery is guaranteed, though.
We will also be happy to suggest the best exploration plan.
- Fishing license fees or others are to be borne by the guests but that will be ￥2,000 to ￥3,500.

Sano City is surrounded by low elevation mountains on all sides and has secret hiking spots. In autumn, you can enjoy the autumn leaves which are a beautiful sight to behold. We will propose the best plan, in accordance with a season during your stay at PLH.
- If admission fees are required, they are to be borne by the guests. Please purchase insurance at your own discretion.(Available at local convenience stores cost about 300-500 yen)
Cycling (Canoeing) Experience at Watarase Reservoir

Biking around the Watarase Reservoir, which has been registered as a Ramsar site and is a protected bird sanctuary where you can see Japan’s unique bird species. You can canoe there too.
We will propose the best plan, in accordance with a season during your stay at PLH.

Cultural Experience
Zazen and tea ceremony experience at a Zen temple

Guests will have the opportunity to experience Zen meditation and enjoy a tea ceremony with the priest at a Zen Buddhist temple located near PLH. Guests can also enjoy a special zen-vegetarian meal on request in advance at their expense.
Other Services
Early Check-in
This is a free option. Please let us know at the time of reservation by checking the box on the reservation form.
The Early Check-in service allows you who use the Optional plans in combination with your stay at Pine Luxury Homestay to check-in in the morning (around 10:30) of the day of your stay so that you can have more time to fulfill your stay in Sano. If there are no guests staying the day before, you can check-in even earlier. Please check the box on the reservation form when you make your reservation, and we will do our best for you.
BBQ
This is a free option. Please let us know at the time of reservation by checking the box on the reservation form.
A free BBQ area is available for guests. The BBQ area is equipped with a stove, kitchenette, chairs, and even a fire pit, so all you have to do is to bring your own food to cook and eat. There are supermarkets around PLH and we can take you there if needed.
Free Shuttle Service
This is a free option. Please let us know at the time of reservation by checking the box on the reservation form.

For those traveling by public transportation, such as trains and buses, we have free shuttle service from Sano Station or Sano Shintoshi Bus Terminal to Pine Luxury Homestay. This service is available to anyone staying at PLH.
